This song was written for a Gloucestershire based research project and exhibition in 2013, called "I Will Tell You Something Of My Own". I was inspired to write it by one of the participants, who compared the experience of someone like him, living with dementia, with that of anyone else we know, or may meet, who is lost or in need.

I was a really nice guy, 'til the lightening came and split my sky.
Now, it's not that I'm bad.
It's just the life that I had took me down so deep the love ran dry.

But I need somebody to lead me through the dark.

My name is Grace.
The sum of all of my days is lost to me, but it's written on my face.
My hands are old, like the stories I've told.
They've got my life, but they haven't got my soul.
